Application Support Engineer
The Role's Purpose
This role is critical to ensuring our internal systems and client-facing tools operate efficiently, integrate seamlessly, and evolve with business needs. You will take ownership of platform configuration, troubleshooting, system improvements, and API integrations, working closely with operations, delivery teams, and external vendors.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys blending technical problem-solving, process improvement, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced, consulting-led environment.
What You'll Do
- Provide day-to-day support across SaaS platforms including HubSpot, Contractbook, and Skipso
- Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement timely fixes
- Manage user access, permissions, and system configurations
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks or inefficiencies
- Configure and optimise workflows, pipelines, templates, and automation within SaaS tools
- Support ongoing system enhancements aligned to business processes and growth
- Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and changes
- Design, implement, and maintain integrations between platforms using APIs and middleware/tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, native APIs)
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical solutions
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across integrated systems
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to provide operational and commercial insights
- Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and KPIs
- Ensure high-quality data management practices across all systems
- Act as a key point of contact between technical and non-technical teams
- Support onboarding and training of users across platforms
- Work with external vendors and support teams where required
Your Skills
- Proven experience in an Application Support, Systems Administrator, or similar role
- Strong hands-on experience with HubSpot (CRM configuration, workflows, pipelines)
- Experience working with SaaS platforms such as Contractbook, Skipso, or similar tools
- Demonstrable experience with API integrations and automation tools
- Strong Power BI skills (dashboard creation, data modelling, reporting)
- Experience troubleshooting system and integration issues
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Highly organised with a strong attention to detail
- Proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- Comfortable managing multiple systems and priorities
- Collaborative and approachable, with a strong service orientation
- Keen interest in continuous improvement and system optimisation
- Familiarity with iPaaS tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, Workato)
- Basic scripting or coding experience (e.g. Python, JavaScript)
- Experience working in a consulting or professional services environment
- Understanding of CRM, contract management, or innovation platform workflows
Your Experience
- Experience working in an innovation / start-up / venture environment. Ideally with proven experience working on projects or programme
- Good understanding of innovation, collaboration and project management practices, tools, and methodologies
- Experience with working with multiple stakeholders, such as startups and corporate clients, but also understanding the practicalities of working in a small and growing company
- Experience with processing and presenting high volumes of data
- Experience configuring and maintaining Power BI dashboards, including managing data sets, updating visualisations, and supporting end users.
- Experience contributing to the rollout, testing, or adoption of new tools, templates, or digital workflows.

- Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 depending on skills and experience
