The Role's Purpose
The Senior Lead, Defence will lead Plexal’s delivery to a significant UK Defence client, enabling the success of a multi-year programme of engagement on innovation and transformation. This role is accountable for the successful delivery of Plexal’s programme of work in this significant account, and acts as Account Manager for the client, achieving high levels of client satisfaction and account growth.
What You'll Do
  • Lead the delivery of a significant, multi-year programme with an anchor UK Defence client, supporting the client’s adoption of innovation and new technology in order to achieve strategic transformation. Be accountable for high quality and timely delivery of a complex programme of work, achieving high level of client satisfaction.
  • Lead the Plexal team delivering this programme, providing strategic oversight of the team’s lines of effort ensuring high performance, and mentoring and supporting the development of the team (especially junior roles)
  • Act as Account Manager for the Defence client, with responsibility for leading Plexal’s strategic engagement with the client, achieving account growth and establishing Plexal as a critical partner.
  • Lead the delivery of other Defence orientatecontracts, providing Defence domain subject matter expertise into Plexal to enable continued growth and success in this sector. 
  • Lead the delivery of diverse client engagements across the variety of Plexal’s innovation consultancy delivery, providing expert advisory services into Plexal’s clients, achieving high levels of customers satisfaction
Your Experience
  • Either 8+ years of experience in consultancy or industry, especially in the technology or advisory sector, with direct experience of delivery for UK Defence clients; or 8+ years of experience within UK Defencewith experience of driving innovation, digital transformation or technology adoption
  • Experience of delivering complex programmes focussed on transformation and change, managing complex stakeholders and achieving outcomes in the face of ambiguity. Proven experience of delivery to time and on budget.
  • High-level domain expertise in UK Defence, able to link Plexal’s propositions to strategic ambitions in Defence, and understanding of procurement and buying cycles and methodologies. 
  • Experience of leading and managing teams, ensuring high performance and the development of junior staff.

    Attendance at client site (45 mins from central London)  at least 3 days a week 
    Regular business travel across all Plexal sites. 
    Needs the ability to manage and influence through both face-to-face and virtual team environments.
